I'm the Hen Ferchetan. This is my take on the world through the eyes of Wales. While mostly about Welsh politics (that most famous of dour topics!) I try to scatter some humour around, but I doubt anyone but me will find it funny! Have a read, and if it bores you then feel free to never come back!

If You Say So David

Clwyd West's Tory MP David Jones notes Heritage Minister Alun Ffred Jones' congratulations of Geraint Thomas and Team GB's men pursuit team (Olympic Champions and world record holders). He comments:
Nice to see a Plaid Cymru politician acknowledge that we Brits can be world-beaters when we stick together
Isn't it great how politicians will even try to turn messages of congratulations into political point scoring! Following this line of thinking I assume that when David Jones MP celebrated Wales' Grand Slam here he was acknowledging that Wales is better off alone? I doubt it.

Not to be picky....but.... David Davies is MP for Monmouth, David Jones is MP for Clwyd West.

The Hen Ferchetan is the Hen Ferchetan anon - have a read here:

http://amlwchmagor.blogspot.com/2008/08/i-am-who-i-am.html

I don't discuss my life, or my boys' life on here - if for some reason you have an urge to know more (which would be ironic seeing as how your an anon!) then I'm always available on the e-mail.

Well you're anon, too, aren't you? Not in the Cardiff phone book under "Ferchetan, H"!

True, but in the post I linked to above I tried to point out the difference between a fixed name anon i.e. someone using a false name but one that is clearly identifiable and is fixed and an anon who is not fixed so cannot easily be argued against and cannot be held to account.

It's a bloody hard distinction to put into writing (which is why the I am Who I Am post is long!). The basic point though is that un-fixed anons can e-mail me to argue a point, but i can't do the same back!

But as you say, anonomous is anonomous in the end - that's why I wrote that post in defence of anonomous bloggers and that's why I don't block anons from commenting on Amlwch to Magor.

The only thing I don't like are people who post as anons "bigging up" some politician or other when really they are members of that politician's staff (as one ex-commentor here was).

Oh, and Wales is bigger than Cardiff you know! There's a ton of other phone books for you to check :-D
